One more wakeup!

Well, that's it. Years of dreaming, months of planning ... and here we are. One more wake up before the adventure begins.

A lot of people have been asking me this last week whether or not I'm excited. For sure, I'm feeling a level of excitement...but I think there's still a much larger level of disbelief going on. It's still pretty hard for me to digest that I'm actually getting to do this trip.

I think a lot of my excitement is also being tempered by how much still has to take place before my tour begins:
  • A full day of flying (and landing); running to find my next gate; and flying again. But that only gets me across the country.
  • Then there's another several hours making a trans-pacific crossing to Australia...so hoping my luggage lands with me.
  • Once I land in Sydney, Australia, I have to navigate the Sydney transportation network to find my hostel;
  • Up again early the following morning to catch another flight to Alice Springs....oh, I hope that shake alarm works like it's supposed to!
  • A quick meet and greet that night with my tour group and one final wake up (@ 6:30AM Aussie Time...that Shake Awake will definitely be paying for itself on this trip!) to meet my group @ 7:30AM and start the month long tour.
But that's all part of the Adventure, after all, isn't it!

So, yes I'm excited. But I don't think it's all going to really hit me until I'm throwing my baggage into that tour van.

Finally, here's a Google Maps "Mash up" that illustrates how close Australia really is to the opposite side of the world from Cape Breton. Well, it's not exact...but definitely close enough!

If the Earth were a sandwich!

Good night all & Take Care!
